Grow Your Garden
The goal of the gardening app is to provide users with a starting point in designing their garden. Through this app, users have the opportunity to see how their garden will look like with the plants they choose. They have a variety of options available to them, and the plants are categorized into flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruits. The app then allows users flexibility in their garden so they can create the best garden possible.

Developing a CRM Portal For Humber Innovation
My Role: Collaborated with a co-designer on interviewing users and designing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) portal.
Project Overview
A fellow designer and I were brought onto the Humber Research and Innovation team to create a CRM portal that would help the team centralize their content and information. The team and other members of Humber were currently relying on email, Excel, and MS Teams to communicate with colleagues and stakeholders and to update and compile information. The CRM was thought of as a tool for the Humber community to efficiently obtain information on research projects, grant applications, contacts, workshops and other resources.

I worked with my co-designer to bring the CRM to life by designing an interactive prototype that showcased different features and displayed pre-existing information in a more user-friendly format.
Initial Research Stage
Before we started to design this portal, it was important for us to take a moment and to wrap our minds around what a CRM is, how it helps companies, and what CRM tools exist already.

Design Development
My co-designer and I would collaborate on ideas and brainstorm pages to include in the portal. We presented our solutions and revisions to our product manager and development team on a weekly basis. After we received the approvals from our product manager, we communicated with the developers to guide them through our design and work on developing the portal.

These are some of the pages we worked on, in their final version.
This dashboard almost performs like a personal tracker for the user. For instance, they are able to keep track of things they’re working on, add events they want to attend, contacts and resources (articles, videos). This is very handy for the user as all of their information is in one location.
Gives a clear view of different types of projects happening at Humber. Key details are also listed such as who is working on the project, the program, school (faculty) and the status.
This dashboard displays project information in an interactive and visual way. Each tab can be clicked on to expand on the content.
This page lists all Humber Staff, Faculty members, External (partners) and their contact information. This feature also lists documents shared between each other. This allows the users to efficiently contact people and use to directory to easily find contact information.
Potential partners who want to work with Humber on research projects need to fill out various forms and submit an application. With this page design, users can easily find all of their required documents in one area.
Grant packages can be quite lengthy to read so in this layout, we tried to break up the information. We also have added tabs so it’s easier to go through the content.
Learning Outcomes
I learned a lot through this internship experience because I had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from different fields of work. I also improved my presentation skills in this role by presenting my design solutions often, to people with non design backgrounds.

This was the first time I designed for a dashboard and for a CRM portal so it was interesting to see how much design can elevate a very simple and repetitive process to become a better user experience with personalization and resourcefulness.
